The Distillers Note

We secured a small number of these 300-litre ex-Burge Port barrels from Schahinger Cooperage many years ago. Today, the timber is grey with age, and the words “Heavy Char” can still be seen across the barrel head—a detail that has played a beautiful role in the flavour of this whisky, bringing depth and an almost imperceptible thread of gentle smoke.

Finish The flavour rushes forward before settling into a light, fresh finish that continues to linger. Deep caramel slowly rounds everything out.
