TASMANIAN WHISKY WEEK / AUGUST 2nd 2026

DISTILLER'S CAMPFIRE

A single winter night on the McHenry mountain top. Safari tents pitched beneath the stars, telescopes trained on the Southern Cross, a fire crackling between us and a dram of single malt warming the hand. An evening of storytelling, stargazing and whisky beside the fire.

MORE QUESTIONS

  • Dress warmly in layers. Tasmania's winter evenings can be cold, and the experience takes place outdoors. We recommend inclosed footwear and a warm jacket and any wolly bit you think will help.
  • Yes. All tickets include a hearty fireside dinner featuring meats cooked over the fire, accompanied by fresh bread sweet treats and more For guests staying overnight, breakfast is also included and will feature freshly baked pigeon whole croissants, fruit, tea, and coffee to start the morning. *We are happy to accommodate most dietary requirements. • Yes. Shared indoor toilets are available on site for all guests throughout the event. We also have one shower available if required, located approximately 500m from the main area. Please note this is down a steep hill, so while it is accessible, it is not directly adjacent to the camping and event spaces. As this is a single-night experience, most guests find the facilities provided are more than sufficient for their stay.
  • If the weather turns, the experience simply moves indoors. Dinner will be served in our sheltered pavilion. Stargazing will still go ahead. We have an indoor telescope and projection system that allows us to live-stream observations onto a large screen, giving guests a unique guided journey through the night sky from the warmth of indoors. Rain or shine, the whisky will be flowing, the fire will be lit, and the experience will continue.
  • Transport is not included. We recommend arranging a designated driver or booking accommodation nearby. Local taxi services are available.
  • We partner with several local establishments. Contact us directly for recommendations and preferred rates at nearby lodges and guesthouses.
