Finding McHenry Distillery is an adventure in itself, a journey through pristine Tasmanian wilderness that leads to a world of handcrafted whisky and gin.
From the Port Arthur Historic Site, drive just five minutes further, then turn left onto Radnor Road. The road narrows to a single-lane dirt track, winding through dense forest for 2km, but trust us, it's worth it.
As the trees clear and sunlight filters through, you’ll arrive at Tasmania’s southernmost distillery, where whisky and premium gin are crafted with pure Tasmanian spring water and a slow-aging maritime climate.
To find our Cellar Door, take one last left turn—right next to our giant inflatable beer can (yes, you read that right!)—and pull into the car park.

At McHenry Distillery, we invite you to slow down, sip, and savour an authentic Tasmanian whisky and gin tasting experience.
You’ll likely be greeted by Daisy, our black Labrador, who takes her role as the official distillery greeter very seriously.
Enjoy a guided whisky and gin tasting, where you'll sample a selection of our handcrafted spirits, each made with pure spring water and matured in Tasmania’s cool, ocean-cooled climate—the perfect conditions for exceptional depth and smoothness.
Enhance your experience with a cheese board featuring premium Tasmanian cheeses (available for an additional $60).

What if the weather doesn’t cooperate? If the sky isn’t clear on the night, we’ll run an indoor session with high-quality projections of the night sky, led by our knowledgeable guides. You’ll still get a fully immersive experience, complete with insights into stars, planets, and deep-space wonders—all in the warmth of our distillery.
