Tasmanian Whisky Week 2025: A Recap from the Edge of the World

Tasmanian Whisky Week has once again drawn whisky lovers from near and far to celebrate the craft, passion, and provenance that makes our island home a true whisky destination.

For McHenry Distillery, the week was a chance to share our story, showcase our spirits, and welcome new and familiar faces into the fold of Tasmania’s growing whisky community.

Showcasing Craft & Character

At the Tasmanian Spirit Showcase, guests discovered our award-winning whiskies, alongside some of the state’s finest distillers. We poured drams that tell the story of Port Arthur — shaped by the pure spring water that flows through our rainforest and the cool coastal climate that gives our whiskies their signature character.

Our cellar door team relished the opportunity to talk with enthusiasts, collectors, and curious newcomers alike. There’s nothing quite like watching someone experience McHenry whisky for the first time.

Whisky After Dark

A highlight of the week was our evening under the stars at the distillery. Guests gathered around the fire to enjoy slow-cooked local fare paired with whisky and boilermakers. As the southern sky revealed itself, conversation and laughter carried late into the night — a reminder that whisky is not only about what’s in the glass, but the people and the place that surround it.

Looking Ahead

Tasmanian Whisky Week is always more than a festival — it’s a reflection of how far our island has come as a world-class whisky region. We’re proud to be part of this story, and even prouder to welcome those who make the journey to experience it with us.
